How would an FM System benefit our students, teachers, or parents?

ELIMINATING BACKGROUND NOISE AND IMPROVING THE CLARITY of sound is what a listening

system will accomplish.  An FM System transmits sound via radio frequency and will work up to 150 ft.

The teacher/person speaking wears a microphone/the Transmitter and the student/listener wears the

Receiver/headset.  All FM Systems are compatible witih T-Coils/Neckloops.

There are two FM systems we recommend for school/classroom settings.  Each may be utilized as a

personal listener or when in larger groups.  The Motiva is a system that has demonstrated some great

durability for younger children and the Contego is a bit more sleek for the middle to high school age group

that might be concerned about appearances.

An FM System is ideal for staff meetings, when there is one speaker, one-on-one/small group meetings,

and for the student in a classroom environment.   If you have a teacher with a hearing loss, a personal

listenerMino or PockeTalker offer tone/pitch control, volume amplification, and may be used with a

T-Coil . Mino may be a solution.  Personal listeners are similar to hearing aids; however, are not adjusted

to fit the hearing loss.

A student is able to freely interact with other children while simultaneously hearing the instructor due to the

dual functionality of some of the FM Systems.  This would be a function of the Contego, which we

recommend for children older than K-5.
